Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Browns are expected to waive S Calvin PryorĀ afterĀ he was involved in a fight with a teammate before practice.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that Pryor got into a fight with WR Ricardo LouisĀ and there’s currently no word regarding Lewis’ status with the team.

Pryor was noticeablyĀ absent from Thursday’s practice and there was no reason given by the team.

Pryor, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $8.56 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,587,717 for the 2017 season.

The Jets declined to pick up Pryor’s fifth-year option this offseason and later traded him to the Browns in return for LB Demario Davis.

According to OverTheCap.com, waiving Pryor would free up no cap space while creating $1,136,955 in dead money.

In 2016, Pryor appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded 62 tackles, no interceptions, a forced fumble and five pass defenses.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 73 safety out of 89 qualifying players.
