Browns Expected To Make CB Jamar Taylor Available For Trade

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Browns are expected to make CB Jamar Taylor available for trade if they take a cornerback high in this year’s draft.

Cleveland has been revamping the cornerback position this offseason, which has included them signing three free agents and Rapoport adds that they could draft one or two this year.

If that’s the case, Taylor would appear to be the odd-man-out in Cleveland.

Taylor, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. Miami traded Taylor and the No. 250 overall pick to the Browns back in 2016 for the No. 223 selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Taylor was in the final year of a four-year, $3.626 million contract when the Browns signed him to a three-year, $15 million contract. He stands to make base salaries of $4.25 million and $4.07 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Taylor appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 62 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 71 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding a trade involving Taylor as the news is available.
