Browns Express Interest In Jaguars C Stefen Wisniewski

Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports that the Browns have expressed interest in Jaguars free agent C Stefen Wisniewski.

The first thought here is that the Browns are lining up contingency options in the event they lose Alex Mack to one of a number of teams who are reportedly interested in him.

Wisniewski does have ties to the Browns, as he was in Oakland when new Browns HC Hue Jackson was their head coach.

Wisniewski, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. After playing out his rookie contract, he wound up signing just a one-year contract with the Jaguars after find less interest than many anticipated.

In 2015, Wisniewski appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 19 center of 39 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
