Browns HC Hue Jackson: “There’s A Chance” QB Josh McCown Returns In Week 8

Browns HC Hue Jackson told reporters after the game that “there’s a chance” veteran QB Josh McCown could return in time for Week 8’s game against the Jets.

I think there’s a chance. We’ll reevaluate everything on Monday,” Jackson said, per Nate Ulrich.

On Sunday, rookie QB Cody Kessler left the game after he sustained a concussion and was replaced by fellow rookie Kevin Hogan, so there’s obviously some question about how will be available to play next week.

McCown was expected to miss between 2-4 weeks after he sustained a strain and hairline fracture in his non-throwing shoulder around five weeks ago.

McCown, 37, signed a three-year, $14 million contract that includes $6.25 million guaranteed with the Browns back in March of last year. He stands to make base salaries of $4.375 million (2016) and $3.625 million (2017) over the duration of the agreement.

In 2016, McCown has thrown for 260 yards while completing 60.6 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding McCown and his return as the news is available.
