Browns Hire Ken Zampese As QBs Coach

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, citing a league source, reports that the Browns have hired Ken Zampese as their new quarterbacks coach.

Zampese was one of two candidates who interviewed for the Browns’ offensive coordinator position along with Texans QBs coach Sean Ryan. However, it appears as though Jackson felt it was best to add him as their new QBs coach and keep looking for a coordinator.

Zampese, 50, began his NFL coaching career with the Eagles as an offensive assistant back in 1998. Since then, he’s worked for the Packers and Rams before the Bengals hired him as their quarterbacks coach in 2003.

The Bengals promoted Zampese to offensive coordinator for the 2016 season. However, he was unfortunately fired as offensive coordinator a few weeks into the 2017 season.

In 2016, the Bengals’ offensive was No. 19 in points scored, No. 13 in total offense, No. 15 in passing yards and No. 13 in rushing yards.
