Browns Hire Ray Horton As Defensive Coordinator

Kyndra de St. Aubin reports that Ray Horton signed a four-year deal worth $8 million dollars with the Browns to be their defensive coordinator.

That’s a very sizable contract for defensive coordinator, which is also a pretty clear indication that Jimmy Haslem is willing to do whatever it takes to get the best coaching staff he can possibly find in place.

The Cleveland Browns have announced that they have officially hired former Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton to run their defense.

Arizona cut Horton loose shortly after they hired Bruce Arians as their next head coach. Arians mentioned during his press conference this afternoon that he didn’t want to have any issues relating to player loyalty given that Horton was also a finalist for the job.

The Browns have added two of the most respected coordinators to their staff in Norv Turner and Horton, so it will be interesting to see what this team looks like next year.
