Browns Hiring Former Cardinals DC Al Holcomb

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Browns are hiring former Cardinals DC Al Holcomb as their defensive run game coordinator/linebackers coach.

Holcomb obviously worked with new Browns DC Steve Wilks last year in Arizona, so this isn’t all that surprising.

Holcomb, 48 began his coaching career at Temple back in 1995 as a graduate assistant/LBs coach. He worked for a number of schools including Colby College, Bloomsburg, Kutztown and Lafayette before getting hired by the Giants as their defensive quality control coach in 2011.

The Panthers hired Holcomb as their linebackers coach in 2013 and he later departed for the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator last year.

In 2018, the Cardinals’ defense ranked No. 20 in yards allowed, No. 26 in total points allowed, No. 32 in rushing yards allowed and No. 4 in passing yards allowed.
