Browns Met With QB Drew Stanton

While it was officially listed by the NFL as a visit, Nate Ulrich reports thatĀ free agent QB Drew Stanton didn’t actually visit Cleveland but briefly ran into Brown’s leadership while they were on the West Coast.

The Browns made the decision to inform the NFL of the meeting which is why it was listed as a visit.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Browns brought in veteran QB Drew Stanton for a visit on Thursday.

This is the first reported interest in Stanton since the free agent market officially opened.

Stanton, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Lions back in 2007. He played out the final year of his two-year, $6.5 million contract that includes $4.5 million guaranteed and made a base salary fo $2.5 million for the 2017 season.

Stanton is currentlyĀ testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Stanton has appeared in five games and thrown for 894 yards while completing 49.7 percent of his passes to go along with six touchdowns and five interceptions.
