Mary Kay Cabot confirms that free agent CB E.J. Gaines‘ visit with the Browns will take place on Friday.
Yesterday, Mike Garafolo reported that was set to meet with the Jets on Thursday and then travel to Cleveland for a meeting with the Browns.
Gaines wrapped up his visit with the Jets without reaching an agreement. The Cardinals recently hosted Gaines for a visit, but he also left Arizona without a deal.
Gaines, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Rams back in 2014. The Rams traded him to the Bills last August as part of the Sammy Watkins deal.
Gaines played out the final year of his four-year, $2,327,672 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2017, Gaines appeared in 11 games for the Bills and recorded 59 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
