LaFell, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He spent four seasons in Carolina before joining the Patriots as a free agent back in 2014.
The Bengals signed LaFell to a one-year, $2,500,000 contract in 2016 and re-signed him to a two-year, $9 million contract that included $3.3 million guaranteed last year. He was set to make a base salary of $2.55 million for the 2018 season when Cincinnati released him last week.
In 2017, LaFell appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and caught 52 passes for 548 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 96 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
