Browns Have Had “A Lot Of Conversations” About Possibly Trading No. 4 Pick

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that while the Browns plan to stay put and use No. 1 overall pick, they’ve had “a lot of conversations” about trading the No. 4 overall pick.

  • Pelissero adds that this is normal due diligence, but it’s possible that Cleveland could consider trading the pick to a team interested in moving up for a quarterback.
  • Ian Rapoport spoke to one decision-maker who referred to the Browns’ No. 4 pick as a “pivotal point in the draft” and it’s possible that trading out of this pick could net them at least a 2019 first-round pick.

The Browns, Broncos and Colts have all come up in recent days as the teams to watch in regards to trading down in the early part of round one, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Meanwhile, the Bills, Dolphins and Cardinals are teams who could consider moving up for a quarterback.

It would be a costly move for one of these teams to trade up to No. 4 overall, considering that they’re all outside of the top 10 picks, but once quarterbacks start coming off of the board, you can expect trade talks to begin picking up.

We’ll have more regarding the Browns possibly trading down from No. 4 overall as the news is available.
