Browns “Open” To Signing QB Matt Flynn?

Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository writes that the “gates are wide open” to Matt Flynn as early as next week.

This comes after Browns GM Tom Heckert was asked about the possibility of signing the Packers backup quarterback. Heckert also ruled out any interest in Peyton Manning so we can at least remove one team for the Manning frenzy.

So far, the Browns seem like the only players for Flynn but that could change fast if Manning signs with a team by next week.

Aaron Rodgers lent him some support by mentioning that he believes Flynn is a “top-15 quarterback.” per Peter King.

The team that gets Matt is going to be very happy,” said Rodgers, per Peter King. “I can promise you.”
