Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam Confirms Hue Jackson Returning As Head Coach

Following Sunday’s loss in which the Browns officially completed the 2017 season with an 0-16 record, team owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters that HC Hue Jackson will return for the 2018 season.

Haslam said he told new Browns GM John Dorsey that Jackson would return as head coach and that there was no debate about the decision, per Aditi Kinkhabwala.

“I don’t think Hue has lost (his) magic,” Haslam said.

Haslam actually credited Jackson for the fact that the team “played hard” up to the final minutes of the year, even though they were able to produce a single victory, per Kinkhabwala.

Some assumed that the decision to hire Dorsey could lead to them bringing in a new head coach, but Haslam hasn’t waivered regarding Jackson’s status with the team.

Jackson, 52, was hired as the Browns head coach in 2016 after spending a few years as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator. Jackson has led to the Browns to a record of 1-31 (3.12 percent) since taking the job.
