Browns Ownership Already Giving Vote Of Confidence To Front Office & Scouts

According to Jason La Canfora, Browns ownership felt that they needed to have a conference call this week with the scouts and football operations staff in which they gave evaluators a “vote of confidence of sorts that some are reading more like a harbinger of change.”

La Canfora says that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam tried to preach continuity in recent years, but his sources have said that there’s “little trust between the coaching and personnel side.

One issue between the front office and coaching staff has been the failure to identify talent through the draft and free agency and La Canfora says that “divisions are flaring once again.

A team source tells La Canfora that while Haslam’s intentions were to instill confidence and downplay any fears of anyone losing their job, the simple fact that he felt compelled to make the call so soon during the season did not go unnoticed. In fact, La Canfora adds that some viewed the situation more as a “kiss of death.”

La Canfora believes viability of the Hue Jackson/Sashi Brown regime is waning by the week.

We’ll have more regarding the Browns as the news is available.
