Browns Place C Alex Mack On Season-Ending I.R. & Promote OL Ryan Seymour

The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that they have placed C Alex Mack on season-ending injured reserve and promoted OL Ryan Seymour from their practice squad.

Mack was carted off the field with a left-ankle injury during Cleveland’s Week 6 game against the Steelers, and it was later confirmed that he sustained a broken leg. Mack is on schedule to return in time for the start of the 2015 season after he underwent successful surgery in recent days.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Browns were holding out hope that Mack could return in 8-10 weeks, but they obviously have changed their mind.

Mack, 28, is in the first year of his five-year, $42 million contract that included $26 million guaranteed. His base salary for the 2014 season is $10 million.
