Browns Place TE Rob Housler On Season-Ending I.R. & Promote DB De’Ante Sanders

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve placed TE Rob Housler (hamstring) on season-ending injured reserve and promoted DB De’Ante Sanders to their active roster.

Housler, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals who played out his rookie contract with the team. The Browns wound up signing him to a one-year,  $1.76 million contract back in April, but it he’ll once again test the open market next year.

Housler’s 2015 season ends with him appearing in six games and recording just a single reception for six yards receiving.

Saunders, 23, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State back in May. He was unable to make the 53-man roster a few months ago, but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
