Browns Promote LB Cam Johnson, Waive RB Daryl Richardson

The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that they’ve promoted LB Cam Johnson to their active roster and waived RB Daryl Richardson.

  • The Browns also waived DB De’Ante Saunders from their practice squad.

Richardson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He spent two years in St. Louis before he was waived and later claimed by the Jets, but was unfortunately among the team’s early roster cuts.

The Texans signed Richardson in September and was on and off of their practice squad for most of the year before being waived close to a month ago. The Browns wound up signing him to their roster a few weeks ago.

Richardson hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he ran for 215 yards on 69 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 121 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
