Browns Pursuing Bengals WR Marvin Jones, May Also Consider Mohamed Sanu

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns are pursuing Bengals free agent WR Marvin Jones.

Jones has an obvious connection to the Browns, seeing as they hired former Bengals OC Hue Jackson as their head coach.

According to Cabot, Jackson would like to add Jones as a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver, but also likes fellow Bengals free agent WR Mohamed Sanu.

Cabot seems to think Golden Tate‘s five-year deal worth $31 million and $16 million guaranteed could be a point of reference for Jones and the Browns.

Jones, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract and is now in line to be among the most sought after receivers in this year’s market.

In 2015, Jones appeared in all 16 games and recorded 65 receptions for 816 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 50 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

Sanu, 26, was taken in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He too has played out his rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days.

In 2015, Sanu appeared in all 16 games and caught 33 passes for 394 yards receiving to go along with 71 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
