Update:

The Browns have officially ruled QB Cody Kessler out for the remainder of Sunday’s game due to a concussion.

Browns rookie QB Cody Kessler was taken to the locker room during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Bengals to be evaluated for a possible concussion.

Cleveland has fellow rookie Kevin Hogan as their backup quarterback to Kessler.

Kessler, 23, was taken with the No. 93 overall pick by the Browns a few weeks ago. He was an interesting selection for the Browns, considering that they elected to trade out of the No. 2 spot and passed on Carson Wentz.

Kessler signed a four-year contract worth $3,004,788 that included a signing bonus of $664,788 with the Browns.

Entering today’s game, Kessler has completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 865 yards to go along with four touchdowns and an interception over the course of four games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Kessler as the news is available.
