Browns & RB Isaiah Crowell In “Heavy Communication” Regarding Extension

Browns RB Isaiah Crowell said his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is in “heavy communication” with the team about a contract extension, but he is not sure where talks stand.

Crowell did, however, stress that he wants to be part of the Browns moving forward.

“This is where I want to be. I am comfortable with my teammates, love my teammates, love my coaches and just love the city of Cleveland,” said Crowell, per Pat McManamon.

Crowell signed with the Browns this offseason as a restricted free agent to a second-round tender worth $2.746 million for the 2017 season.

Crowell, 24, originally joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama State back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract and re-signed with the team as a restricted free agent.

In 2016, Crowell appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and rushed for 952 yards on 198 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 319 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 running back out of 62 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding a new contract for Crowell as the news is available.
