Browns RB Montario Hardesty Will Undergo Knee Scope, Out Indefinitely

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns RB Montario Hardesty will undergo a knee scope Thursday.

  • Hardesty is expected to be out indefinitely.
  • The knee scope could cost Hardesty at least four weeks, according to the report.

“His knee’s been nagging him for a little bit,” said HC Rob Chudzinski. “This is unrelated to the hamstring tendon that he had injured that kept him out earlier in camp.

Hardesty, 26, has already dealt with a hamstring injury and a dislocated right thumb this offseason, so his chances of making the 53-man roster aren’t looking very good.

Dion Lewis appears to have solidified the Browns No. 2 running back job behind Trent Richardson. Hardesty’s injury could open the door for guys like Chris Ogbonnaya and Brandon Jackson to win the No. 3 job in the coming weeks.
