Browns Re-Sign DE Tyrone Holmes, Waive OL Zach Sterup

The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they’ve re-signed DE Tyrone Holmes to a contract and waived OL Zach Sterup.

This comes after the news that No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett is expected to miss time with a high ankle sprain.

Holmes, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason last year and later claimed off of waivers by the Browns.

Cleveland cut Holmes loose last weekend as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2016, Holmes appeared in 11 games and recorded six tackles and a sack for the Browns.
