Browns Re-Sign FB Ray Agnew, Waive FB Kiero Small

Update:

The Cleveland Browns announced Tuesday that they have re-signed FB Ray Agnew and placed FB Kiero Small on waivers in a corresponding roster move.

  • The Browns also released DL Jacobbi McDaniel from their practice squad, which could be an indication that Small is expected to end up on their taxi squad in the event he clears waivers.

Agnew, 23, signed on with the Browns as undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois. He was able to make the Browns 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and is rated as the No. 12 fullback in the league among qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus.

Over the course of six games, Agnew has ran for two yards on two carries and caught two passes for 15 yards.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that the Browns are releasing FB Kiero Small on Tuesday.

Small was promoted off of their practice squad after they decided to part ways with fullback Ray Agnew back in October.

Small, 25, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL Draft by the Seahawks, but he was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.

This season, Small has appeared in three games, but has yet to record a single statistic. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 87 snaps during this period of time.

It would not be surprising to see him end up back on the Browns’ practice squad if he clears waivers.
