Browns Release G Alvin Bailey

The Cleveland Browns officially released veteran G Alvin Bailey on Thursday.

Bailey just finished serving a two-game suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. He was arrested for OVI and other counts after he was stopped by police while in a Cleveland parking lot around 1 a.m. back on Sept. 26.

The NFL lifted his suspension with one game left in the 2016 season.

Bailey, 25, signed three-year, $6 million contract with the Browns as a free agent back in March of last year. He’s set to make base salaries of $2 million in each of the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Bailey appeared in all 14 games for the Browns and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 62 guard out of 72 qualifying players.
