Browns Release LBs Quentin Groves & Larry Grant

The Browns announced the release of linebackers Quentin Groves and Larry Grant on Friday.

Groves, 29, had one year remaining on his two-year, $2.8 million contract that he signed with Cleveland back in March of last year.

Last year, he appeared in five games and totaled four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. However, he was unfortunately placed on season-ending injured reserve following an ankle injury.

Grant, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers, but he later signed with the Rams and spent three seasons in St. Louis.

Last year, he was forced to miss the first four games of the season after he violated the league’s PED policy. Grant wound up end up appearing in just two games while he was with the Bears before he was cut loose in November.
