Browns Release QB Vince Young

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam announced Monday that they have released veteran QB Vince Young.

That didn’t last long. Young’s stint with the Browns lasted less than two weeks, but certainly doesn’t come as a huge surprise given that they traded up for Johnny Manziel and even added South Carolina QB Connor Shaw as an undrafted free agent over the weekend.

Cleveland also has returning starter Brian Hoyer and veteran Tyler Thigpen on their roster, so there should be an interesting competition during training camp.

Young, 30, had reportedly been working out in San Diego since January. Young was with the Packers for part of the preseason, but was cut loose before the start of the regular season and wound up sitting out the entire year.
