Mary Kay Cabot reports that the Browns are interested in former Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe, who was officially released earlier today.

  • Jason La Canfora mentioned not too long ago that the Browns would at least explore the idea of signing Bowe, and he noted his ties to GM Ray Farmer.
  • La Canfora added that former 49ers WR Stevie Johnson is also expected to be on their radar.

It’s worth mentioning that the Ravens and Patriots have also come up as speculative landing spots for Bowe.

Bowe, 30, had another three years remaining on his five-year, $56 million contract when he was released. The move freed up $5 million in cap space for the Chiefs.

In 2014, Bowe appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and caught 60 passes for 754 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
