Browns Working Out Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel Saturday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Browns officials are in College Station today to work out Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel.

  • Schefter adds that Manziel will visit the Browns in Cleveland next week.
  • Adam Caplan of ESPN first reported that the Browns were scheduled to work out Manziel this weekend.

The Browns have been doing their homework on many of the quarterbacks in this year’s draft.  They have already worked out several prospects, including UCFs Blake Bortles, Fresno State’s Derek Carr, and Eastern Illinois’s Jimmy Garoppolo.

Manziel has proved to be a polarizing figure among front office personnel and the media alike. New Browns HC Mike Pettine and OC Kyle Shanahan have been relatively tight-lipped about their opinion of Manziel.

Currently, Cleveland’s top quarterback is Brian Hoyer.  The Browns have two first round picks to work with — No.4 and No.26.

We have the Browns taking Clemson WR Sammy Watkins at No. 4 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
