Browns Sign G John Greco To A Four-Year Extension

The Cleveland Browns have reached an agreement with G John Greco on a four-year extension.

Greco, 28, was set to make $800,000 for the 2013 season and will now be under team control through the 2017 season.

Pro Football Focus rated him as a pretty solid guard last season. He especially effective at run-blocking, but was below average in pass protection, according to PFF ratings.

The Browns have the most cap space of any team in the league to work, so it makes sense to see them lockup some of their core players. This is a pretty clear indication that Greco will start at one of the team’s guard spots, even though previous reports indicated that he would likely have to beat out Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston for a job.

We’ll have more regarding Greco’s contract as the news is available.
