Browns Sign K Brett Maher

The Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve signed K Brett Maher to a contract on Monday.

Maher will get an opportunity to compete for the Browns’ job along with Cody Parkey this summer.

Maher, 27, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent of Nebraska back in 2013. He lasted just few months in New York before he waived and later signed by the Cowboys during the preseason. Unfortunately, Dallas cut Maher loose just a few weeks later as they cut their roster down to the 75-man limit.

Maher has spent the past three years in the CFL.

In total, Maher has converted 66 of 87 field goal attempts (75.9 percent) and a total of 263 points. He also totaled 11,683 punt yards on 257 attempts (45.5 YPA).
