Browns Sign K Patrick Murray

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with K Patrick Murray on Thursday, according to his agency.

Murry was one of four players to try out for the Browns at their minicamp this week including TE Kevin Haplea, TE Arthur Lynch, and RB Rajion Neal.

Murray will compete with Travis Coons for the Browns’ kicking job this summer.

Murray, 24, signed on with the Buccaneers on a future/reserve back in January of 2014. However, he wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was later placed on their injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

The Buccaneers, unsurprisingly, placed Murray on waivers after this year’s draft and plan to move forward with second-round K Roberto Aguayo.

In 2014, Murray appeared in 16 games and converted 20-24 field goal attempts (83.3 percent) to go along with 31 of 31 extra point tries.
