Browns Sign OT Greg Robinson, Waive OL Rod Johnson

The Cleveland Browns announced Tuesday that they’ve signed OT Greg Robinson to a contract and waived OL Rod Johnson.

Robinson, 25, was taken with the No. 2 overall pick back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $21.284 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3,322,377 for the 2017 season.

The Rams declined to pick up Robison’s fifth-year option during that offseason that was worth $12,496,000 for the 2018 season. Los Angeles later traded Robinson to the Lions for a 2018 sixth-round pick.

Detroit elected to waive Robinson with an injury designation last year and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

In 2017, Robinson appeared in six games for the Lions and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 71 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players at the time he was placed on injured reserve.
