Browns Sign QB Austin Davis To A Two-Year, $4.17M Extension

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Cleveland Browns have signed reserve QB Austin Davis to a two-year, $4.173 million extension.

  • Yates adds that this move will keep Davis under team control through the 2017 season.

Davis, 26, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss. He had a brief stint with the Dolphins before returning to the Rams in 2013.

Unfortunately, St. Louis elected to cut him loose at the start of the season, but the Browns wasted little time signing him to a contract.

In 2014, Davis appeared in 10 games last year and threw for 2,001 yards while completing 63.4 percent of his passes to go along with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
