Browns Sign Three Players To Futures Deals

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve signed TE Devon Cajuste, DB Denzel Rice, and OL Christian Schneider to futures contracts for the 2018 season.

As of now, the Browns have signed 14 players to futures deals including:

  1. WR C.J. Board
  2. LB Austin Calitro
  3. DB Trevon Hartfield
  4. WR Bug Howard
  5. RB Josh Rounds
  6. OL Victor Salako
  7. DB B.W. Webb
  8. WR Kasen Williams
  9. DL Collin Bevins
  10. RB Kelvin Taylor
  11. TE Gavin Escobar
  12. TE Devon Cajuste
  13. DB Denzel Rice
  14. OL Christian Schneider

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Cajuste, 24, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in May of 2016. He was in the first year of his three-year, $1.62 million contract when the 49ers elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Packers would later sign Cajuste to their practice squad at the start of the 2016 season before eventually placing him on injured reserve in December.

During his college career at Stanford, Cajuste caught 90 passes for, 1,589 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns over the course of 40 games.
