Browns To Start Brian Hoyer Again In Week 5

This probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise now that Brian Hoyer has led the Browns to back-to-back wins since taking over the starting job, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cleveland will keep Hoyer in place as their start for Week 5.

Former first-round pick Brandon Weeden has missed the past two games with a sprained thumb and appears to be healed enough to possibly play on Thursday. However, Hoyer already has two wins under his belt and has gone 55-of-92 for 590 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions in place of Weeden.

There has been rumors that the Browns new regime doesn’t view Weeden as a long-term option. It really wouldn’t be surprising to see them commit to Hoyer as their starter for the rest of the season some time soon.

Cleveland will be up against the Bills at home this Thursday night.
