Browns Starting Cody Kessler In Week 6’s Game Against Titans

Browns HC Hue Jackson announced Thursday that rookie QB Cody Kessler “looked good” in today’s practice and will start this weekend against the Titans, per Mary Kay Cabot.

This has been the expectation all along, barring a setback to Kessler’s chest/rib injury.

Kessler, 23, was taken with the No. 93 overall pick by the Browns a few weeks ago. He was an interesting selection for the Browns, considering that they elected to trade out of the No. 2 spot and passed on Carson Wentz.

Kessler signed a four-year contract worth $3,004,788 that included a signing bonus of $664,788 with the Browns.

In 2016, Kessler has completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 529 yards to go along with two touchdowns and an interception over the course of three games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players.
