Browns Sticking With Brian Hoyer At QB For Week 4

Browns HC Rob Chudzinski announced that Brian Hoyer will be the team’s starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

  • Chudzinski added that QB Brandon Weeden has been ruled out for Week 4 due to his thumb injury.

Chudzinski  wouldn’t go as far to say whether or Hoyer will remain be the starting quarterback moving forward, but Mark Kay Cabot believes it’s Hoyer’s job to lose.

Hoyer put together a surprising performance in Week 3 that saw them walk away with a road win against the Minnesota Vikings. Hoyer completed 30-of-54 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. The biggest takeaway for me was the fact that Hoyer was able to make multiple big plays throughout the game, which was exactly what the Browns offense really needed.

He gets a much harder test when he goes up against Cincinnati, who are coming off of a win over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
