Browns Trade DL Billy Winn To Colts For 2017 Conditional 7th Rd Pick

The Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve traded DL Billy Winn to the Colts in return for a conditional 2017 draft pick.

  • Tony Grossi reports that the Browns will receive a conditional seventh-round pick in return for Winn.
  • Mary Kay Cabot mentions that the Browns will likely promote RB Shaun Draughn from their practice squad.

Winn, 26, is in the final year of his four-year, $2.178 million rookie contract that included a $78,680 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading will free up $1,542,000 in available cap space while creating $19,670 in dead money.

In 2014, Winn appeared in 13 games for the Browns and recorded 31 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
