Browns Tried Out 8 Players Including QB Stephen Morris & K Roberto Aguayo

According to Howard Balzer, the Browns brought in eight free agents for tryouts on Monday including QB Stephen Morris and K Roberto Aguayo.

The full list of tryouts for the Browns includes:

  1. K Roberto Aguayo
  2. WR C.J. Board
  3. WR Devin Lucien
  4. TE Gavin Escobar
  5. TE Henry Krieger-Coble
  6. P Jeff Locke
  7. QB Stephen Morris
  8. RB Devine Redding

Morris, 25, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as a priority undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2014. He was unable to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but was later signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad.

The Eagles claimed him off of waivers a few days later but he would later finish out the year with the Colts. Morris returned to Indianapolis this past January on a future/reserve contract but was once again waived coming out of the preseason.

Morris has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Aguayo, 23, was selected with the No. 59 overall pick after the Buccaneers traded up to get him in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $4.053 million contract and set to make a base salary of $634,208 for the 2017 season when the Buccaneers elected to cut Aguayo loose back in August.

The Bears later claimed Aguayo off of waivers, but unfortunately, waived him coming out of the preseason. The Panthers signed him to their practice squad a few months ago.

In 2016, Aguayo appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and converted 22 of 31 field goal attempts (71 percent) to go along with 32 of 34 extra point tries and 52 touchbacks.
