Browns Waive DL Tory Slater

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Browns have placed DL Tory Slater on waivers after he passed his physical and was activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Wilson notes that the Browns decision to part ways with Slater was due to their defensive line depth.

Slater, 22, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia back in early May. However, he was later waived/injured just a few weeks later before eventually ending up on the team’s injured reserve list.

Cleveland claimed Slater off of waivers from the Seahawks a few months ago.

During his college career at West Georgia, Slater recorded 31 career tackles, 8.5 career tackles for loss, three sacks, eight quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery.
