Browns Waive OLB Jackson Jeffcoat & OL Conor Boffeli, Sign Two

The Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve waived OL Conor Boffeli and LB Jackson Jeffcoat, and signed LB Jason Neill and OL Corey Tucker to contracts on Monday.

The Browns just recently placed Jeffcoat on the active/PUP list on Friday after he suffered a hamstring injury during a conditioning test.

Jeffcoat, 25, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May of last year. However, he was cut at the start of the 2014 season before later signing on to the Redskins’ practice squad at the start of the year.

Washington ultimately waived him back in April, but he wound up being claimed by the Browns.

Jeffcoat is in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Jeffcoat appeared in six games and recorded four tackles and a forced fumble for Washington. His season ended with him being placed on injured reserve in November.
