The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve promoted rookie CB Trey Caldwell to their active roster and waived S Trae Elston.
Elston, 22, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in May. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason but signed on to the Buccaneers’ practice squad in October.
The Buccaneers cut Elston loose a month later and he just signed on with the Browns a few weeks ago.
During his college career, Elston appeared in 50 games and recorded 252 tackles, 34 pass defenses, four interceptions, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
