Browns Waive TE Connor Hamlett

The Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve waived TE Connor Hamlett to make room for newly acquired LB Jamie Collins.

Hamlett, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Oregon State back in May of last year before signing on with the Jaguars. Unfortunately, he was among the Jaguars’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad during the season.

After a brief stint on the Saints’ practice squad, Hamlett signed a future/reserve contract with the Browns. However, he was once again unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason before later signing on to the Browns’ practice squad.

The Browns promoted to their active roster earlier this month.

In 2016, Hamlett has appeared in three games and caught one pass for 17 yards receiving and one touchdown.
