Browns Waive WR James Wright From I.R. With Settlement

The Cleveland Browns officially waived WR James Wright from injured reserve with a settlement on Wednesday.

Wright, 25, was a seventh-round selection of the Bengals back in 2014. Wright is in the final year of his four-year, $2,269,824 contract and stands to make a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Wright wound up making the team’s 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was later waived with an injury designation in July of 2015. After clearing waivers, Wright reverted to the team’s injured reserve list where he remained for the entire season.

The Browns waived him with an injury designation a few weeks ago and he later reverted to injured reserve.

In 2016, Wright appeared in 13 games and caught 13 passes for 106 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
