Browns Waive WR Mitch Mathews From Practice Squad

The Cleveland Browns have waived WR Mitch Mathews from their practice squad on Tuesday, according to his agent Brett Tessler.

The Browns’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Dan France
  2. CB Trey Caldwell
  3. LB Scooby Wright
  4. WR Josh Boyce
  5. C Anthony Fabiano
  6. WR Jordan Leslie
  7. RB Terrence Magee
  8. DT Gabe Wright
  9. DB Darius Hillary

Mathews, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of BYU back in May. He was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season, but he was unfortunately waived in the final week of the preseason.

The Browns signed him to their practice squad back in October.

During his college career, he caught 152 passes for 2,083 yards (13.7 YPR) and 24 touchdowns over the course of 41 games.
