Browns Waiving Rookie LB Scooby Wright, Will Sign Him To PS If He Clears Waivers

Pro Football Tlak reports that the Browns are waiving rookie LB Scooby Wright on Tuesday.

Although, PFT adds that the Browns are hoping to sign him to their practice squad on Wednesday if he clears waivers.

Wright, 22, was taken with the No. 250 overall pick by the Browns this past May. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $2.4 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

During his college career at Arizona, Wright recorded 270 tackles, 43.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.

Wright has yet to appear in an NFL game.
