Browns Waive WR Terrelle Pryor

Pro Football Talk first reported that the Browns have informed WR Terrelle Pryor that he is being placed on waivers Thursday.

Pryor has confirmed that he’s been waived by the Browns, according to Mary Kay Cabot.

“This will be a mistake by them,” Pryor told Cabot of the team’s decision.

Pryor managed to make it through roster cuts this past weekend, even though he had missed some time this summer due to injury. The Browns elected to sign him after he was willing to convert to receiver from quarterback.

However, it looks like Cleveland ultimately decided to move forward with their other receiver options.

Pryor, 26, was taken by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft. He lasted a little over three years in Oakland before he was traded to the Seahawks for a seventh-round pick that ultimately became Jonathan Dowling.

Kansas City later signed Pryor to a one-year contract back in January, but his stay was obviously short lived. Pryor eventually caught on with the Bengals, only to be waived and later claimed by the Browns.

In 2013, Pryor appeared in 11 games and completed 57.4 percent of his passes for 1,798 yards, seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
