Browns Willing To Trade OLB Barkevious Mingo & Paul Kruger

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have made it known they’re willing to trade former first-round pick OLB Barkevious Mingo.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported that veteran OLB Paul Kruger is also on the trading block.
  • Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the day that the Browns willing to listen to offers for LT Joe Thomas and C Alex Mack.

There was some previous speculation that Mingo could be made available, and given that he’s yet to live up to his draft status, it’s not surprising to hear that they’re willing to field offers for him.

Mingo, 25, is in the third year of his four-year, $16.347 million contract that included a $10.268 million signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $585,000 this season and another $675,000 in 2016.

The Browns also have the ability to exercise his fifth-year option, but it’s unlikely they would do so, considering that they’re reportedly willing to trade him.

This season, Mingo has appeared in seven games and recorded 12 tackles, one interception and seven pass defenses.
