Browns Worked Out 4 Players Including DE Devin Taylor & LB Jayrone Elliott

According to Howard Balzer, the Cleveland Browns brought in four players for tryouts on Tuesday including LB Jayrone Elliott and DE Devin Taylor.

The full list of tryouts for the Browns includes:

  1. LB Lavar Edwards
  2. LB Jayrone Elliott
  3. LB Marcus Rush
  4. DE Devin Taylor

Taylor, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Lions back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,460,584 rookie contract with the Lions before signing a one-year contract with the Giants this past May.

Unfortunately, the Giants cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Taylor returned to the Giants for a few weeks during the season before he was once again waived.

In 2016, Taylor appeared in all 16 games and recorded 28 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a safety and a pass defense for the Lions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 108 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.

Elliott, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team, which is why he’s been testing the open market.

Elliott re-signed with the Packers this offseason but was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2018. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks.

The 49ers, Colts, Buccaneers, Redskins and Seahawks have recently worked out Elliott but he did not receive an offer from any of these teams.

In 2016, Elliott appeared in 11 games for the Packers and recorded 19 tackles and sack.
