Browns Worked Out LB Austin Calitro

Howard Balzer reports that the Browns brought in free agent LB Austin Calitro for a workout this week.

Calitro, 23, wound up signing on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova shortly after this year’s draft. Unfortunately, he lasted just a few weeks in New York before he was placed on waivers.

Calitro later caught on with the 49ers but wound up being among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. He later had a brief stint on the Seahawks’ practice squad.

During his college career at Villanova, Calitro recorded 219 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 26 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and eight pass defenses over the course of 47 games.
